We’re all aware of the meaning of the word ‘weather’ in regards to the state of the atmosphere at a certain place and time. #WOTD
That’s the definition of ‘weather’ as a noun. Today, we’re going to talk about different meanings of weather. #WOTD
Now, let’s check the following sentences.
- My yellow shirt weathered almost white under the bright summer sun. #WOTD
- Your friends are always by your side as you weather this storm. #WOTD
In the first example, ‘weather’ (v.) means something changing appearance or texture by long exposure to the air. #WOTD
In the second example, ‘weather’ (v.) means come safely through difficult situation. #WOTD
The synonyms of ‘weather’ in these contexts are undergo, endure, survive, pull through, complete, finish, go through, pass, etc. #WOTD
