#IOTW: Idioms with the word “Peace”.

Good evening, fellas. How was your day? I hope it was as good as mine. I had a discussion with my friends about random stuffs earlier today. From celebrity news to updates about the world. We all agree that peace is what the world needs. Do you think so?

Talking about peace, I want to share some idioms with the word “peace”.

at peace | meaning: 1. relaxed & happy. E.g.: I am always at peace when I see the sunset. 2. a gentle way of saying that someone is dead. E.g.: My grandmother is at peace now and her suffering is over.

hold one’s peace | meaning: to remain silent. E.g.: Bill was unable to hold his peace when his ex girlfriend got married.

leave someone in peace | meaning: to stop bothering someone.  E.g.: You should leave her in peace. She’s got too many problems already.

peace of mind | meaning: a tranquility that results from not having worries, guilt, or problems. E.g.: If peace of mind is something that you want, try moving to a smaller city.

Peace out | meaning: the slang term for “goodbye”. E.g.: This is the end of tonight’s session. Peace out! :)
