Does any of you know who this is, fellas?

Yes! The character in the picture is Maleficent, a disney villain. And now we’re going to talk about maleficent!

We’re not going to talk about the character, but we’re going to talk about the word “maleficent” :D Yup, it’s not just a name, it’s a real word :) #WOTD

The word “maleficent” is an adjective, it comes from Latin.

Maleficent means harmful or evil in intent or effect. 

The noun form of the word “maleficent” is maleficence. 

 

Some synonyms of maleficent are:

Baleful, baneful, evil, malefic, malevolent.

 

Some antonyms of maleficent are:

Kind, beneficent, benefic. 

For example,

I am seriously afraid of her. Her smile looks so maleficent to me.
