Have you ever confused when you watched conversations in a movie? English daily conversation, just like our conversation, sometimes uses many idioms that not many of us understand. So let’s try to guess the meaning of some idioms that are frequently used in English daily conversation!

A: I’m so happy! I finally got a promotion!

B: Wow, that’s good for you! Congratulations!!

A: Yeah, yesterday I went bananas! I ended up running around the office and kissing my boss and my co-workers!

  1. I went bananas” means to behave in a very over-enthusiastic way, an explosion of happiness (menggila, dalam makna positif).
  2. Not give him the time of the day” means to not greet someone or say hello; refuse to give attention (.)
  3. Put your money where your mouth is” means supporting your words with actions (jangan hanya ngomong saja).
  4. I’ll keep you posted” means to keep someone informed (terus memberi kabar).
  5. Flying by the seat of my pants” means do something difficult without really knowing how (mencoba hal sulit tanpa tahu pasti gmn caranya).
